The lake is stocked with largemouth bass (tiger bass), bluegill sunfish, redear sunfish, golden shiners, threadfin shad, fathead minnows, and hybrid bass. Fish will be intensively managed to produce the best freshwater fishing in this region. Ample under-water structure has been placed, many spawning shelves or spawning habitat have been incorporated into the lake design, and additional fish-feeding stations are placed around the lake. Lake maintenance, liming and a lake-wide aeration system will keep quality water for increased available fish habitat. Alligators will be managed as intensively as possible in conjunction with the SC Dept. of Natural Resources.
